Hawks beat the Raptors, so no one gained or lost on either. Both sit at 38-41 and they play each other Sunday, so it could more or less be decided on that game.

Don't worry they"ll probably land Kyle Singler or Gordon Hayward
As far as other games go, Durant has 18 points...at the end of the first quarter.
Joakim Noah may have just ended the Raptors season. It's not official yet but have a game lead with two remaining and without Bosh... They need to win as many games as the Bulls to make it. They need to hope the Bulls lose at least one game and that the Celtics or Bobcats don't rest too many players. Noah's 18 pt, 19 rbd performace killed us. For an energy guy Noah can be deadly sometimes...

what a great game and great win. that combined with the spurs loss at home tonight to memphis chlinched the division crown. all that's left is the seedings.

By the way, this game is unwatchable. I love the Pacers and even I'd have turned it off by now if I didn't have to write about it. I'd rather be watching the Dodgers on an mlb.com gamecast than watch this godawful game.

The only one of those that is only really bad in hindsight is Allen/Marbury. While trading a first round pick to get a guy taken one spot higher is a bit...no in my books anyway (okay, well, you might consider it if you're trading Ray Allen/first rounder for Allen Iverson, and Marbury was no Iverson in 1996), but Marbury should've been better than Allen, and I can't fault Minnesota for seeing that. I was too young to remember any red flags on Marbury coming into the league though, so ultimately the deal could've been a little shady at the time as well. And really, the whole three team deal that sent a first rounder to Denver and Minnesota didn't get the one good player involved in that turdass deal (though it was a journeyman Billups) is absolutely sickening. Bobby Jackson had a good rookie year for an 11-win Nuggets team.
Gordon Hayward talk has already begun. He's being called "the savior" of the franchise. This whole thing reeks of Steve Alford. Which may be a good thing, since that's the year they took Reggie Miller instead.
about to watch a crucial game between the mavs and the blazers. the only team the mavs haven't beaten this year. 0-3, probably gonna be 0-4 after tonight. the division and 2 seed depend on this game.
As far as other games go, Durant has 18 points...at the end of the first quarter.

elsewhere in the nba the nets bulls had a double overtime thriller. the nets came out on top and the bulls playoff hopes are fading away

As I watch the Pacers starters getting out hustled by Cavaliers 5-12, I can't help but think I've never seen this level of "Indianapolis Colts in Week 17" action in the NBA before this. If you include Shaq, the Cavs are sitting four of their starters tonight: LeBron, Jamison, and Mo Williams. I'm glad I'm not a Cavs fan who happens to be at this game, but I'll be really sad if the Pacers don't win this one. Talk about a huge step back for a great stretch to lose to the Cavs backups.

Oh yeah, anyone else see the Wizards absolutely torch the Celtics? Big Three got time in this one, I don't wanna hear anything about them pulling a Cavs/Colts. I wish Bogut wasn't injured. I'd take that upset in a heartbeat and a half, but I have to reconsider, but I might still take it. This Celtics team is becoming a real joke.

I think we'll remember Noah for his postseason play. He was tremendous last year against the Celts.
Didn't you hear Mike Brown's declaration? He said that every game until the end of the season is just going to be like a "high level practice, if we lose then it doesn't matter". Yes he actually said something along those lines, and yes, I didn't believe it either.

I'm no genius on being an NBA General Manager (well, I won't say that...I have to be better than David Kahn), but if you have two top five picks in the NBA draft after an 24-58 season, flat out and with no excuses should your team win LESS games the next year, much less almost ten less. You can talk about the Clippers being the gold standard for sucking in the NBA, but by all means, the TImberwolves have every right to fight for that spot as well.

And seriously, Quicken Loans Arena is the most annoying in the NBA. Those sound effects NEVER stop...

But it's still looking favorable for Toronto. Bulls have @ Toronto, Boston, @ Charlotte while the Raps get to finish up with Chicago, @ Detroit, New York.

Instead, they'll be picking tenth, hearing the owner say "Hey, we got Reggie Miller and Danny Granger low." But we also got Shawne Williams and Scott Haskin low too, so I don't take too much stock in that junk. Can't get John Wall or Evan Turner low. Oh, please reward us, Lottery Gods, for not tanking the season.

Also, Sebastian Telfair is a terrible player. He's the only player I've seen who can score 12 points in 5-7 shooting in a half and still have the worst +/ - on the team. What a bum.

So about the Timberwolves. They're going to end up with a worse record this year than they did last year.

Here's a franchise that in 20 years of existence has won two playoff series, made one good draft pick, couldn't even effectively build around their one good draft pick except for one year, traded Ray Allen (and a first round pick), O.J. Mayo, AND Brandon Roy on draft day, and traded multiple first rounders for Bobby Jackson.
And seriously, Quicken Loans Arena is the most annoying in the NBA. Those sound effects NEVER stop...

That is going to be a really good a first rounder between Cleveland and Unfortunate Team No. 1, I tell ya... I hope it's the Bulls, cause I like watching Derrick Rose, even if he'll be leading his team like lamb to the slaughter.

There's some truly indefensible stuff there. And you don't need hindsight on most of those to know they're just bad moves. There's no defending the "skys the limit" potential of O.J. Mayo for the white as the Minnesota snow hype of Kevin Love (though Love is rounding into a solid player...Mayo is clearly better), and Brandon Roy was a better prospect than Randy Foye anyway, and despite similar college numbers, I remember Roy getting more pro love than Foye. Sure enough. One's a top 10-15 player, the other is struggling to get times on a tanking Wizards team.

I was a little shocked when they were saying LeBron probably wouldn't play in the last two games either. That seems silly for one, and originally I thought it'd be bad for their mojo heading in, but I forgot they're going to be playing an overachieving Bulls team or a Raptors team without Bosh, so it's still high level practice even in the playoffs.
Pacers won, first win in Cleveland in ten tries. It was a pretty exciting game at the very end after Mike Dunleavy completed a four point play, but if all traces of basketball were destroyed except this game, and this game was the only thing that could save the sport, I'd let the sport die than risk having people think this game was actually some kind of landmark. And then the Pacers play the Nets tomorrow, that oughta be a real riot as well. Gah, I wish the Pacers could get a playoff seed instead of Chicago or Toronto.
Quick, somebody tell Garnett he can now mention KD, MJ and foul shots in the same sentence without getting fined. As of tonight he surpassed MJ in free throws made in a single season going 14of16 from the line tonight.

Edit:
In case anyone wonders, you should never trade valuable assets on the tremendous rookie numbers for a guy who plays on an especially sucky team. This is why I'm more than curbing my expectations on Jonny Flynn's good looking rookie numbers, though I admit, he's been a low visual for me.
